Summary
Aujourd'hui, la biodiversité se trouve majoritairement sur les territoires des peuples autochtones, qui représentent une part essentielle de la diversité humaine. Pourtant, le modèle de conservation dominant exclut de fait les peuples qui vivent dans les aires protégées. Les violations des droits humains au nom de la protection de la nature sont nombreuses.. Le passé de la conservation, enraciné dans le racisme, le colonialisme et la prédation, n'a jamais été remis en cause. L'image du « primitif à civiliser » et d'une « nature sauvage à sauver » perdure. Fiore Longo, anthropologue, nous montre que notre modèle de protection de la nature est basé sur une série de mythes, qui doivent être déconstruits.. Car dans la démystification de nos imaginaires se cache la possibilité de construire de nouvelles images et d'envisager différemment notre avenir - pour mettre en place une protection de la nature respectueuse des peuples autochtones, décolonisée et réellement efficace..
