Summary
Le Kamouraska occupe une place importante dans notre imaginaire collectif. La simple évocation de ce nom fait naître des images fantasmées qui renvoient pourtant à des paysages bien réels. Le Kamouraska, c'est un horizon de montagnes et d'îles sauvages qui se mirent dans le Saint-Laurent embrasé par le soleil couchant. C'est une plaine fertile parsemée de villages aux clochers altiers et d'îles devenues montagnes. Ce sont des chemins champêtres qui grimpent de points de vue en panoramas vers les Appalaches et ses villages qui portent encore la trace des pionniers. Depuis plus de 300 ans, explorateurs, poètes, romanciers, peintres, touristes ou géographes, nombreux sont ceux qui ont vanté les beautés du Kamouraska. À son tour, l'auteur et photographe Nicolas Gagnon nous invite à la découverte de cette région exceptionnelle. Ses textes et photos racontent l'épopée de l'occupation humaine et de la formation du paysage, tout en témoignant du dynamisme et de la beauté de chacune des dix-sept municipalités de la MRC. Les magnifiques images de ce livre révèlent le lien très fort qui unit les Kamouraskois à leur territoire, un attachement qui repose en bonne partie sur des paysages porteurs d'identité.
