Summary
Interpellé à la sortie d’un théâtre par une vague connaissance qui lui lance «Je vais te lire bientôt», un homme, qui n’a rien publié depuis des années, perd pied, foudroyé par la réalité à laquelle il croyait s’être soustrait. Et nous voilà plongés au cœur de ce recueil de nouvelles où le doute l’emporte sur les certitudes, où une voiture qui refuse de démarrer présage une issue fatale, où un jeune frère voit enfin poindre le jour où il pourra prendre sa revanche sur sa sœur aînée, où le désir d’une petite fille de six ans de se faire percer les oreilles nous plonge au cœur de la fragilité de la vie, où une femme voit peu à peu le plaisir lui être interdit, et une autre la noirceur l’envelopper.
Dans Fais pas cette tête, comme toujours chez Jean-Michel Beaumier, les apparences sont trompeuses et la hantise du temps qui fuit omniprésente. Restent les grilles de sudoku que l’on tente de remplir pour échapper à l’inéluctable. Et la tendresse que l’on éprouve pour ces personnages qui, comme nous, font de leur mieux.
