Summary
Mi-humain mi-vampire, Blade se consacre à l'éradication des suceurs de sang qui peuplent la Terre, à commencer par leur chef, Dracula. Pour mener à bien sa mission, il peut compter sur ses capacités surhumaines innées, sa maîtrise des arts martiaux et sur un arsenal d'armes légères. Bien que Blade ait hérité à la naissance de certains attributs des vampires, il décide de consacrer sa vie à éliminer les créatures de la nuit. Pour les traquer, il utilise ses capacités surhumaines, ainsi que sa maîtrise des armes et des arts martiaux. Le personnage fait ses débuts dans les pages de Tomb of Dracula, sous l'égide de Marv Wolfman et Gene Colan. S'il rejoint ensuite les rangs de divers groupes, comme les Prédateurs nocturnes, il est le plus souvent le protagoniste d'aventures en solo se déroulant au sein de différentes séries et mini-séries. Au cours de ses quatre premières années d'existence éditoriale, Blade évolue presque exclusivement au sein du titre Tomb of Dracula. Il est alors aux trousses du redoutable Dracula..
