Légende du jeu, le gaucher espagnol au lift ravageur doublé d'un mental inoxydable a marqué son époque. Mais avec une telle dépense d'énergie sur chaque frappe, son physique l'a parfois trahi. À 37 ans, il reste ainsi sur une saison blanche en raison d'une blessure au psoas-iliaque gauche.. Nadal absent, Novak Djokovic a remporté 3 Grands Chelems en 2023 pour passer à 24 titres, contre 22 au Majorquin. Mais « Rafa », qui a annoncé que 2024 marquerait probablement sa dernière saison sur le circuit ne « pense pas mériter de finir comme ça ». Adepte des retours au premier plan, il rêve d'un 15e et ultime sacre à Roland-Garros, avant d'y disputer également les Jeux Olympiques. L'occasion pour ses fans, en France et ailleurs, de lancer encore quelques « Vamos Rafa ! ».
