À l'écoute des orques . Ma vie avec les géants de la mer . Alexandra Morton livre ici le récit captivant de sa carrière de chercheuse spécialiste des dauphins et des orques. À la fin des années 1970, alors quelle travaillait au Marineland de Californie, elle fut la première à enregistrer les sons émis par deux orques captives en plongeant un hydrophone dans leur bassin. Elle capta différents langages associés à l'accouplement, à la naissance et même au deuil après la mort d'un nouveau-né. Dans le même temps, elle découvrit que les orques étaient capables d'inventer d'étonnants mouvements synchronisés, ce qui fut par la suite reconnu comme un comportement social caractéristique de ces géants des mers.. Réflexion passionnante issue d'une vie d'observation de mammifères fascinants, ce livre ouvrira vos yeux, comme jamais auparavant, sur les merveilles de la nature. .
