Summary
Mozart est âgé de 22 ans lorsqu’il se rend à Paris en 1778, accompagné de sa mère. S’il n’y rencontre pas les succès espérés, cette visite parisienne marque un tournant majeur dans sa vie personnelle et dans son évolution artistique. Marquées par des désillusions qui le feront mépriser le public parisien et par le drame de la perte de sa mère, ses sonates pour piano-forte sont teintées d’une intense gravité, miroir du marasme intérieur que vit le jeune prodige. Au même moment, le castrat Albanese charme la capitale avec ses Romances, prisées du public, d’où Mozart puisera une partie de son inspiration. Arnaud De Pasquale, au clavier d’une superbe réplique de pianoforte Silbermann de 1749, nous ramène dans ce Paris des années 1770 où la pratique musicale n’est qu’effervescence et nous invite, tout en grâce et sensibilité, dans l’intimité tourmentée du génie.
