“A Leo” is an album which stemmed from an encounter between Francis LaLanne and the band Carre Blanc, a rock band from Marseilles. It began at an event organized by Jean-Louis Foulquier in 1985, and from there on out their paths never stopped crossing, beginning with their time at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art of Marseille. This album is the result of a long friendship that unites Francis to the group and that allowed him to revist the great songs of his friend, honoring his promise to write each year four more verses to the song “A Leo” and which gave birth to a new title, “A Leo, the promise.” The album was recorded with Carre Blanc from December 2013 to September 2016 in Merseille, Paris, Saint Remy de Provence, and Pennes Mirabeau.
