It’s Alive: The True Story of Frankenstein, Part 1 further traces the story through all its artistic renditions: 19th-century stage adaptations, silent film versions including the 1931 film starring Boris Karloff, its superb 1935 sequel Bride of Frankenstein, Mel Brooks’ hilarious satire Young Frankenstein and the 1994 Kenneth Branagh film starring Robert De Niro. This spectacular set includes interviews with actors including Gene Wilder, experts on Mary Shelley, the 19th century novel, the horror genre, cinema makeup and much more.
