Summary
D'octobre 1793 à la fin janvier 1794, " un représentant en mission " de la Convention, Carrier, va faire guillotiner, fusiller, noyer 10 000 personnes, à Nantes. Il donne des ordres et il a de féroces exécutants. Il est persuadé que " de grandes mesures " sauveront la République, à un moment où les Vendéens la menacent. Il croit être l'homme d'une mission décisive. Exalté au point de délirer, il est tellement sûr d'être dans la voie tracée par la Convention qu'il prétend, au moment de sa condamnation, " mourir innocent ".
