Pour la première fois publiée en France, la transcription intégrale de l'interview culte qu'accorda John Lennon en 1970 à Jann S.
Wenner, alors rédacteur en chef du magazine Rolling Stone. Cette interview met à nu toutes les interrogations de l'ex-Beatle concernant la séparation du groupe, mais révèle également la genèse de ses chansons préférées, son rapport à la drogue, son opinion sur ses collègues musiciens - les Rolling Stones et Bob Dylan -, mais aussi ses projets d'avenir aux côtés de Yoko Ono. Lennon, alors âgé de trente ans, était déterminé à briser le "mythe", l'image trop lisse des Beatles, malgré un respect inchangé pour ses anciens compagnons.
En dépit des diatribes, l'humour et l'humanité ne sont jamais très loin. Un ouvrage étonnant, d'une sincérité absolue, reflet vivant et impulsif des tourments d'un artiste épris de liberté.
